Morgan Hagner

This t-shirt marks 50 years of women's varsity athletics at West Chester University. I chose this shirt as my feminist artifact, because I am a female athlete at this university. This shirt represents my opportunity and right to play on scholarship at this school in the sport I love most. I am so grateful for  this celebration of women's athletics because it affects me directly. I wouldn't have had the opportunity that I do now. -Morgan Hagner

Scandal is one of the most popular TV series playing today. It is aired on ABC Thursday Nights. In this episode in particular, the character Red who is the White House Press Secretary goes on a rant about the challenges she faces as a women in politics. Her rant (21:30) displays every aspect we have discussed in this class. She talks about how she is defined by a man, how they critique her looks, her weight, the way she dresses, what it is like to be oppressed. I think it is really interesting and cool that such a hit-series is showing light towards feminism.
